March 21 - World Forest and Trees Day - Ambiente e Boas Praticas

March 21 - World Forest and Trees Day
On this date, reflection on the importance of trees and forests for social welfare and natural balance and the state of forest resources degradation is promoted.

Trees and forests are for the environment and society a source of social, economic and extremely important products and services for the maintenance of biodiversity, the capture and absorption of carbon and consequently attenuation of the greenhouse effect, the conservation of water and soils against erosion, for the well-being of human and animal life conditions.

The historical loss of forests is associated with the industrial exploitation of wood, woody fuels and other forest products, and overpasting.
These factors are in turn associated with poverty, demographic growth, market and exchanges of forest products and macroeconomic policy.
Angola has 17% of the total surface of the country covered by forests.
To protect them the government of Angola has recommended reinforcement of protection against burnings, professional training of frames, technical and institutional reinforcement of forest tutelage bodies and improving the oversight of forest areas.

Also, to control and preserve our forests the government of Angola has been developing since 2008, the forest inventory, which will facilitate the exact location of the country's forest heritage and will allow concrete guidelines to do the economic and environmental management of forests.
