FEBRUARY 2 - WORLD WETLANDS DAY - Ambiente e Boas Praticas
World Humid Day Day was instituted in 1997 to mark the signing of the International Humid Humid Zones, in the Iranian city of Ramsar, on February 2, 1971.
It should be noted that Ramsar's also known convention came into force in 1975.
The Ramsar Convention highlights the importance of humid zones for their bi-atic, ecological, hydrological and economic value and the important role it plays in maintaining ecosystems and biodiversity. Sometimes these zones are associated with cultural and religious aspects.
Regarding Angola, moist zones are located in the southeastern region of the country, especially in the provinces of Bié, Kuando Kubango and Moxico. The Republic of Angola joined Ramsar's convention in 2013.
Various shares of training and dissemination on moist zones have been carried out with the aim of sensitizing people for their importance and a national inventory on these zones is in preparation.
